Branson Biking-See the Ozarks on Two Wheels
Anyone looking to bring their mountain bikes to Branson and enjoy how the Ozarks were really meant to be seen should read this blog.
A great Branson Biking afternoon can begin by driving west on 76 to Boulder Glade trail. Ride it, then hop back in the car until you hit Sycamore Log Church Road. Take it and ride the bottom trail. Keep going on Sycamore Log Church and turn right on Highway 248, left on Flynn Road. There you can ride the loop trail. After that you’ll be ready to head back and stuff and refresh yourself at one of the buffets in Branson. Just remember to ride the trails, but drive the roads–most of the highways connecting these trails aren’t biker friendly.
Another hiking and mountain biking spot in the area is Busiek State Forest. Busiek is about 20 miles north of Branson on Highway 65–about halfway to Springfield. While there isn’t any spectacular stand-out scenery, Busiek is overall a very scenic place, and even better for those who enjoy the quiet it’s rarely very busy. A quiet bike ride along Woods Fork Creek can be the perfect contrast to the Branson traffic. There are multiple trails on either side of the highway that loop together-that way you can choose to ride one shorter trail or make a longer journey over several of them at once, depending on the time and energy you have.
Just remember to the way to spot a happy rider is the one with bugs between their teeth. Let me know some of your favorite biking spots in the Ozarks by leaving a comment.
